TwitterIf you are looking for new ways to reach out to your customers and want your brand awareness to stretch to new boundaries start using the Twitter Sales Driver (TSD) system and increase your net presence fast. The TSD system uses the Twitter Social Networking site to add awareness and sales to your business. Our free tutorials, real examples, and brain storming exercises will teach you how to properly bring your brand awareness onto Twitter and start driving sales.

What can Twitter do for my business?

New to Twitter?

If you are new to Twitter don't worry, our Twitter 101 Center & TSD Twitter Dictionary will give you a basic understanding of Twitter in no time. Twitter is extremely easy to learn, it's ease of use is unlike any other social or advertising network. Anyone can start using Twitter in minutes, there isn't a wrong way to use it. Twitter's users keep changing the functionality everyday. Very little has changed in Twitter's code since it launched, it's the users who are changing how it is used. This is what makes Twitter so exciting.

If you already have a good basic understanding of Twitter, you can get started now by looking at the TSD Method.

The TSD is brought to you free. If you feel you've gotten value from our service, we do accept donations to keep TSD going. Even if you can't afford to donate, a simple tweet to Twitter showing your appreciation for this site goes a long way as well! You can do that by pushing the green button on the right tool bar. We look forward to your success!

Why mass auto follow fails (how TSD is different)

Many Twitter marketing sites (almost all of them) claim they can increase your following by the thousands. I'm not disputing their claim, their method is pretty simple. Mass auto follow everyone, the ones that follow you back is good for the stats, the one's who don't...you unfollow, and repeat. This is also called follow spam. The more followers, the more people your updates go to. Yes this is true, but your followers will be of the lowest quality on Twitter. You will not be engaged with them, they won't be responsive, and most are just spammers just like you. People who auto follow you provide no value for you. The act of sending follow spam is not promoted in the Twitter Sales Method. We do not sacrifice our brand for traffic to our site, ever.

Not only are we one of the few Twitter marketing programs to say no to this, Twitter itself is trying to stop it too, see here.

Targeting your passionate users to follow is in the heart of the Twitter Sales Driver method. In contrast, using mass auto-following (follow spam), you can target the majority of the Twitter users. The follow back rate (darker shades) is much lower and the quality of followers is much lower as shown in the number of engaging conversations.

The few who actually do follow back aren't really listening, they either had a robot auto-follow you back, or they they just feel they should follow whoever follows them. An analogy for this when you zone out to a TV commercial and think about something else.

Most of the Twitter community is not passionate about your product. The average person doesn't care and that's ok, most brands are like this.

So, how do we get through to them?

By focusing on the small passionate group of users who will listen to us (orange). These users provide the most engaging conversations and our obsessed with the brand and/or industry. They will talk about it to their non-passionate friends in the rest of the curve.

PR is the new advertising

This site is dedicated to merging your company and Twitter. It is a new exciting opportunity that can have a huge impact on how the community feels towards you brand. Twitter brings new creative ways to conversationally reaching out to your customers. It gives your customers a voice. Most of the advertising industry fears Twitter and other social mediums for this reason...they want to control the message. But, they can choose to ignore it and stay with traditional advertising mediums, or they can embrace new technologies.

Our method doesn't cost a thing. Your followers will feel good when the follow you because they don't feel like they are always being sold something. You can drive you sales indirectly by sending links, or info about a sale, etc., but it's about you performing a service to the public, not trying to shamelessly promote something. Our module is about you engaging your followers and talk about the business/industry/product conversationally, to educate them more, like you are the trusted source on the topic. Loyalty is built through trust, not spam.

Ignorance is not bliss when Twitter is growing at 14 million users per month and the demographics of Twitter changing by the day, you can't afford to not be on twitter.

Can you afford to not be on Twitter?

Build awareness, trust, and loyalty

Branding yourself on Twitter early on is crucial to your success when Twitter matures. Branding on Twitter is about being approachable, connected, and knowledgeable. Having the product and industry knowledge that builds trust and awareness with your customers and non-customers goes along way.

With the conversation between your Twitter account and the Twitter community your brand will be known as one that shows full disclosure and is here to serve the community. This kind of PR is priceless, with your everyday engagement with your audience, your brand will sure to take off on Twitter and be a trusted source to build loyal customers. It's being a person that the community can count on when they have a question related to your brand.

This conversation isn't just answering customer questions, you can bounce ideas off your loyal customers. Will they accept or reject? Just ask! Many company's have to spend a lot of money and sometimes go with their gut if they top customers will accept or deny a new idea, now there is no guessing. Your customers will be happy that they are making the brand they love so much even better for them. It's a win-win.

Listen

Twitter collects everyone's updates around the world in real-time. As a user, you have the ability to search that social world timeline in real time. No, we don't care if someone is mowing their lawn or taking their dog to a groomer. But, if we are a lawn mowing manufacturer...then we want to know what people are saying about our product, maybe there is a defect showing up in people's statuses, or that they wish it was cheaper, or maybe just maybe they are talking about how much they love it.

For the users who talk about it a lot, follow them and talk to them. It gives you the results of a focus group with no cost.

Listening is also important for PR, sometimes viral videos, pictures, etc. can really hurt a brand, diffusing it early can save your company a lot of money. Maybe if Domino's was listening to the Twitter social timeline they could have avoided their PR nightmare. I can promise you, they are listening now (@dpzinfo)

Be in the know

Being on top of your industry and competition is important for any business professional. With your Twitter account you can target specific Twitter users to follow to stay on top of news in real time. From conferences, news stories, press releases, and people posting pictures of products, there are feeds to provide you with that instant industry knowledge that a news website or newspaper cannot provide.

Befriending industry visionaries, leaders, and people like you can give you the edge as well. You can see where trends or going, ask them advice on dealing with issues that come up, and get new ideas from their own feeds.

Notify your customers

This isn't email you can't just send an e-blast out, your customers have to want to get the updates by following you...and yes, as a user, that is a good thing. If you have time-sensitive information coming down your Twitter feed and your customers are waiting on it they can have the updates sent directly to their phone. This allows for surprise promotions, special live event status update, or a message saying that a new shipment came in with the hottest new product..."just got 10 Nintendo Wii's in, hurry before they're all gone".

Why Twitter, why not another social medium?

See the Twitter 101 Center for detailed explanation of Twitter

Twitter Search TrendsTwitter is the next social network platform to go mainstream and is growing extremely fast (see graph to left). Twitter vs other social network platforms (facebook, myspace, etc) has advantages for business owners because it is completely free to engage your customers. Gartner a market research company even predicts that by 2011, 80% of social software platforms will have micro-blogging as a standard feature, even though most micro-blogging (Twitter) is non-enterprise orientated.

The graph to the left shows the increase in searches for "Twitter" on Goggle. Since 2009, it has exploded, news networks, pop culture, sports teams have all talked about Twitter. We will show you how to understand Twitter and bring this new exciting technology to your business and start driving more sales to your business.

Unlike other social mediums, Twitter has the most growth potential with limited amount of risk. (Facebook/MySpace = less growth, Tumblr = more risk due to uncertainty). Twitter has strong benefits that Facebook and MySpace cannot offer to the small business user. For starters, Twitter doesn't cost a penny, Twitter allows you to listen to everyone at once (free market research), and it is a central location to engage your audience. We explain the full benefits in detail in the TSD Method online tutorials and TSD eBook.
